At my first year at art college, one of the mandatory classes was called ‘Creative Process.’ What all the professor did was assigning strange projects such as ‘Bring the Moon to class,’ ‘Design a Scale for Dragons,’ reading the book titled ‘Invisible Cities’ by Italo Calvino aloud in class and not giving any feedback to our art works. And he used to say “When you get stuck in art making, go to your kitchen and start cooking. That will give you a new way to creating art.”
I had no idea what I was doing at that time, but now I know what it truly means.
So now I cook, eat, drink and draw with my husband and two baby sons.
